FIBONACCI AND THE HINDU NUMERALS HE DISCOVERED
The Fabulous Fibonacci Numbers
Scholars have determined that the first published use of the Hindu numerals (our common numerals) in the Western world was in 1201. It was in this year that Leonardo of Pisa (Leonardo Pisano), more commonly known as Fibonacci (pronounced: fee-both-NACH-ee), published his seminal work Liber Abaci, or “book of calculation.” He began chapter 1 of his book with:
The nine Indian figures are: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1.
With these nine figures, and with the sing 0, which the Arabs call zephyr, any number whatsoever is written.
This constitutes the first formal mention of our base-ten numeral system in the Western world. There is speculation, however, that Arabs already introduced these numerals informally and locally in Spain in the second half of the tenth century.
Leonardo Fibonacci called it the 9 figures of Hindu-Arabic numeral. He was fascinated by the 9 figures who would have been the 9 figures representing the 9 symbols of the ancient view of the solar system known as the Nav-Grahas or 9 planets. It is possible that he was looking at the 9 figures of the Goddess Kali lightly know as Nav-Durga or 9 forms of the Hindu view of the 9 powers of womanhood. Whatever figures he was looking, definitely, it was one of Hindu Gods such as Ganesha or another icon, all of whom them has 9 forms or – 9 definitions.
Without realizing it, Leonardo was actually looking of the Vedic Code of Mathematics of the universe, better known as Vedic mathematics. It is the only form of mathematics which in ancient India was used to determine the result of xxx distress, or define the structure of the universe in all aspect.
Vedic Mathematics was used to explain the order of creation and it measured such a perfect mathematical values of the age of the earth, the orbits of planets as well as the effects of the planets, the stars and the sun.
Unknown to Fibonacci was the fact that even before he was born, the Vedic Code was already in great use for thousands of years by the ancient Hindus can be found in the Vedic texts known as the Vedas. In this ancient text the solar system and Gods are mentioned as follows:
9 – Planets (Sun, Moon, Mar, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn
27 – Stars (9 x 3)
9 – Female qualities
9 – Forms of obstacles
9 – Definitions of knowledge levels
9 – Openings of the body
Where are many ancient religious books written in chapter counts in multiples of 9’s
18 Puranas
18 Upanishads
144 Episodes of the Ramayana
144 verses of Mahabaratha
And so on
?rt???h are made with geometric figures. And truly in another book that I composed on the practice of geometry I explained this and many other things pertinent to geometry, each subject to appropriate proof. To be sure, this book looks more to theory than to practice. Hence, whoever would wish to know well the practice of this science ought eagerly to busy himself with continuous use and enduring exercise in practice, for science by practice turns into habit; memory and even perception correlate with the hands and figures, which as an impulse and breath in one and the same instant, almost the same, go naturally together for all; and thus will be made a student of habit; following by degrees he will be able easily to attain this to perfection. And to reveal more easily discover. Further, if in this work is found insufficiency or defect, I submit it to your correction.
At this point, the prologue changes direction, as Leonardo recounted how he came to learn this remarkable new calculating method, thereby providing the only autobiographical information we have about its author. Why he included this is unknown. Like mathematicians before and after him, Leonardo cared little for the history of the discipline. Mathematics is eternal, and exactly when something new is discovered and by whom is of secondary importance. Mathematicians admire those who make great discoveries, but their interest is generally in what is discovered, not in who got there first. Nevertheless, described was a monumental one, and at the back of his mind may have lurked the notion that one day people would wonder how this great Hindu invention found its way from the Muslim scholars and merchants who had held it for many centuries to the practical trading men of northern Europe. In any event, he broke with tradition and inserted an all-too-brief summary of the part he played in the story.
As my father was a public official away from our homeland in the Bugia customs house established for the Pisan merchants who frequently gathered there, he had me in my youth brought to him, looking to find for me a useful and comfortable future; there he wanted me in the study of mathematics and to be taught for some days. There from a marvelous instruction in the art of the nine Indian figures, the introduction and knowledge of the art pleased me so much above all else, and I learned from them, whoever was learned in it, from nearby Egypt, Syria, Greece, Sicily, and Provence, and their various methods, to which locations of business I traveled considerable afterwards for much study, and I learned considerably assembled disputations. But this, on the whole, the algorithm and even the Pythagorean arcs, I still reckoned almost an error compared to the Indian method.* Therefore strictly embracing the Indian method, and attentive to the study of it, from mine own sense adding some, and some more still from the subtle geometric art, applying the sum that I was able to perceive to this book, o worked to put it together in xv distinct chapters, showing certain proof for almost everything that I put in, so that further, this method perfected above the rest, this science is in strutted to the eager, and to the Italian people above all others, who up to now are found without a minimum. If, by chance, something less or more proper or necessary I omitted, your indulgence for me is entreated, as there is no one who is without fault and in all things is altogether circumspect.
*recall that Gerbert (ca.980) used the Hindu-Arabic numerals on counters as part of a primitive form of abacus, on which triples of columns were marked with an arc. These were called Pythagorean arcs. When he wrote numbers, Leonardo followed the system of triples, just as we do today when we write numbers like 1,395,281. Leonardo told his readers that even with various enhancements, abacus methods were no match for Hindu-Arabic arithmetic.
The book begins with an observation about numbers that seems trivial to modern readers but was profound during the time of the great Arabic mathematician Al-Khwarizmi:
When I consider what people generally want in calculating, I found that it always is a number. I also observed that every number is composed of units, and that any number may be divided into units. Moreover, I found that every number which may be expressed from one to ten, surpasses the preceding by one unit: afterwards the ten is doubled or tripled just as before the units were: thus arise twenty, thirty, etc. until a hundred: then the hundred is doubled and tripled in the same manner as the units and the tens, up to a thousand; …so forth to the utmost limit of numeration.
Understanding what al-Khw?rizm?, meant requires an appreciation that in his day numbers were regarded as different from quantities of length, a distinction still made in the seventeenth century when Newton invented calculus. The great Arabic mathematician was actually making an uncannily accurate prediction about the degree to which numbers would come to dominate mathematics.
Leonardo divided the book into fifteen chapters, the titles of which vary from manuscript to manuscript, suggesting that the scribes who made copies felt free to make what they felt were clarifying improvements. The titles in Sigler’s English translation are:
Dedication and prologue
1 on the recognition of the nine Indian figures and how all numbers are written with them; and how the numbers must be held in the hands, and on the introduction to calculations..
2 and so on
His opening chapter describes how to write and read whole numbers in the Hindus’ decimal system. Leonardo began: “These are the nine figures of the Indians: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. With these nine figures, and with this sign 0 which in Arabic is called zephirum, any number can be written, as will be demonstrated.” He went on to explain the principles of place value, describing the forms of the numerals, and showing how to write large numbers (either by putting a dot –adcentare-above each hundred, and below each thousand, or by linking group of there numerals with a small curved stoke called a virgule). When his chapter title promised to explain “how the numbers must be held in the hands,” he meant that quite literally. He described a procedure to calculate on the fingers, widely used by medieval scholars and traders, which was regarded as the easiest and quickest way of performing calculations. Manuscript copies of Liber abbaci and those of many other arithmetic books that were to follow often included a drawing showing the various finger positions used to represent different whole numbers. Leonardo also provided addition and multiplication tables to be referred to or memorized in order to facilitate computations. In all, he devoted several pages to this introductory description of the numerals, which would have been his readers’ first encounter with modern numbers.
MATHEMATICS RE-DISCOVERED – VEDIC MATHEMATICS!
Mathematics is part of creation by Swami Ram Charran
One of the most important miracles of this world is the ability to measure almost everything around us. Without the ability to measure something there would be no order in the world. It is the very foundation of creation (God made the world in seven days and seven nights, Genesis). It is the father of the word mathematics, and the mother of all calculations. If there were no methods of measuring things, the word “relativity” would not exist in our language; nor would Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Everything in the universe has measurements — the planets, the stars, the buildings, the music we hear, the words we speak, the time we eat, and so on. There is measurement even in the tiniest of objects, such as the molecule, the atom, the electron and the neutron. If there was no measurement, then there would be no distance, and if there were no distance, there would be no movement or vibration. The very foundation of the universe depends on movements and vibrations, which results in the need for measurement.
Even though many cultures and people have changed their ways of using measurement, and many different units have been invented, the basic measurement of anything still depends upon the vibration of the atoms within that object. This vibration of atoms is inherent in all matter in the universe. Throughout the centuries many people have tried to find a way of measuring these cycles, which on a large scale involve the movement of the sun, the planets, the moon and even changes in the earth’s atmosphere. Hence the science of mathematics was born. Besides the works of great scholars such as Pythagoras, Aryabhata, DaVinci, Aristotle, and others, the introduction of the zero value from India was one of the greatest contributions ever in the field of mathematics. Prior to the discovery of zero, the number nine did not exist in Hebrew mathematics and most of the western world. The Roman Empire had a number system terminating at eight. After the discovery of zero, a new level of mathematical measurement and intelligence was achieved and the base 10 system of calculation was born. This revolution in mathematical measurement hurled the world toward a future of great scientific achievements that was incomparable until the arrival of the new mathematical science called “Vedic Mathematics.”
HOW DOES ELLIOTT WAVE RELATE TO THE VEDIC CODE WAVE THEORY?
The following was excerpted from R. N Elliott’s book “Nature of Things”
Human emotions, as mentioned in the preceding discussion, are rhythmical. They move in waves of a definite number and direction. The phenomenon occurs in all human activities, whether it is business, politics, or the pursuit of pleasure. It is particularly evident in those free markets where public participation in price movements is extensive. Bond, stock and commodity price trends are therefore especially subject to examination and demonstration of the wave movement. This treatise has made use of price movements in stocks to illustrate the phenomenon, but all the principles laid down herein are equally applicable to the wave movement in every field where human endeavor is registered.
A completed movement consists of five waves. Why this should be five rather than some other number is one of the secrets of the universe. No attempt will be made to explain it, although, in passing, it might be observed that the figure five is prominent in other basic patterns of nature. Taking the human body, for example, there are five extensions from the torso – head, two legs, two arms; five extension form head – two ears, two eyes, the nose; five extensions in the form of fingers, from each arms, and in the form of toes, from each leg; five physical senses – taste, smell, sight, touch, hearing; and so the story might be repeated elsewhere. In any event, five waves are basic to a completed social movement and can be accepted without necessity of reasoning the matter out.
Three of the five waves that form any completed movement will be in the direction of the movement; two of the waves will be in a contrary direction. The first, third and fifth waves represent the forward impulse; the second and fourth waves, the contrary, or corrective. Stated otherwise, the odd numbered waves are in the main direction; the even numbered waves, against the main direction.
It is generally accepted as a truth that law rules the universe. Even if we do not understand why or how an exactly every event happens, we can use observation to predict the re-occurrence of an event. For example, we expect that the sun will rise every day, and by observing the changes in seasons, we can predict the time when it will rise. Man is a natural object, just like the sun, and his actions are also very predictable based on certain criteria (like the seasons).
Elliott’s Wave Principle is based on this scientific knowledge and additionally on the knowledge developed by Fibonacci on his sequence. What everyone does not know is where Fibonacci got the basis for his sequence. The base of his knowledge comes from observations made and recorded thousands of years ago in the Vedas. The Vedas are the scientific and sacred books of the Hindus. They are scientific treatises that systematically expose knowledge about mathematics, science, government and religion.
In Vedic Mathematics the energy of everything in the universe is measured in a scale from 1-9. These energies are called Vedic Wave Cycles. These numbers represent the particular energy associated with every natural object including stocks of companies. The complete understanding of this energy has been reserved for thousands of years to Hindu Sages and Priests. As our world changes, there is an opening of consciousness and knowledge and the opportunity exists to share this wisdom with a larger audience worthy of receiving it.
It’s obvious from the above that Elliott had an idea of the Vedic Wave Cycles which represents the movement of all of life in 9 waves. Elliott as you can see above counted only EIGHT waves not NINE. He seemed very sure of the first 5 waves but careful observation of his writings will show that he was unsure about the movements of the last three, that is because he was missing a 9th wave movement in his theory. This affected his final conclusions about the nature of the universe and so was never able to accurately predict the full movement of the waves. If we are going to track the movements of the universe in the form of waves we must consider the factor of “death” or “the end” or else we will never have a beginning. Everything happens because of life and death which are the main points of any system that exists in the universe. Consider a complete line A-B at rest with no wave movement
A _______________________________________ B
A can be considered the birth of any system and B can be considered the death of that system. What happens in that system is a “rhythm” decided by the energy of the starting point. If A is a company that was formed at Point A then all the expenses, the employees, the funding and the players will depend on whether point A was aligned and began with good universal energy at that point. If Point A was started at a negative “time” then it will affect the length of its life in such a way that point B can be shorter or longer relative to A. For greater understanding let us take a baby born on point A. Depending on the “time” it took birth when the mother was abused constantly by the husband, then obviously the success of the kid would be short-lived or difficult. However if the mother was romanced and loved greatly by the husband, then the Point A conditions would be so energized with positivity that the length of the “Time Line” between A and B will be longer and much more prosperous for the Kid.
So as you can see the 9th wave determines the death point of the whole system. This final wave is missing in “Elliott Wave Theory” and so the death wave point is not identified in the system, so at some point the theory will advance perfectly up to the 5th wave but will fail in the 6th to the 8th. This will leave two unknown values: the starting point of the new system as well as the ending point of the old system after the 8th wave.
Between Point A which is ZERO and the last point B there will be only 8 wave movements which Elliott did identify but was unable to see the birthing point A and the death point B. If these points are identified then the 8 waves are easy to identify and analyze. An energy condition will be identified accurately.
Before we proceed to examine the method of finding these points we must first understand “TIME”, as waves cannot operate without it. If there is no time then the wave movement is just a dot (or particle). As you might have observed in the above writings , we placed the word time in quotations because this is a crucial factor to determining point A and Point B. Time is not a tangible factor that can be identified easily as it is value is not fixed nor is it determined by a ruler of any kind. It is a perceptive value. It is this very factor called time that causes scientists in quantum physics get confused by the fact that Light energy photons acts as waves sometimes or as a particle other times. It is because when time is absent, it acts like a particle and when time is present it acts like a wave. Now we must look at how time affects all of life as well as the waves in the stock market.
A death point is determined by the perception of the observer. In any experiment the observer cannot take his perceptions out of the experiment, therefore every time an observation is made the result of that experiment would include the perceptions of the observer. This is why scientists are confused with Nuclear and Particle Physics experiments. Their conclusions involve also the observer’s perception. The perception of the observer is further affected by his or her knowledge and what measurements he used to determine his or her results of the experiment. The same way the investor will have to measure the results by his method of measurement. He will have to determine the up and down movements of his investments by inserting the factor of time based on the type of measurement he wants to perceive those up and down movements of his investments. For example if he is a weekly investor, only the beginning of the week or the end of the week matters. What happens in the middle week is immaterial. If the wave movement is from up to down then he will lose and if it is from down to up he will gain. The same procedure would apply when if the Point A and B represented a month or period of one year or ten years. Whether the stock goes up or down the movement will not be considered part of the “time” perception. It must always be remembered that the complete system is made up of the Vedic Code movements of 9 waves with the point B being the end of the system measurement choosen. The ending point being determined by the beginning point in a 9-wave system called the Vedic Code Waves.
WHAT IS THE VEDIC CODE WAVE THEORY?
The Vedic Code Wave Theory
Stock Market Waves
Vedic Mathematics is an ancient science that was developed based on the knowledge contained in the Vedas, Hindu ancient texts of compiled knowledge dating 5,000 years ago.
In Vedic Mathematics the energy of everything in the universe is measured in a scale from 1-9, called Vedic Wave Cycles. These numbers represent the beginning, the middle and the end of each cycle of life. Part of this knowledge was used by Fibonacci to design his wave. The complete understanding of this energy has been reserved for thousands of years to Hindu Sages and Priests. As our world changes, there is an opening of consciousness and knowledge and the opportunity exists to share this wisdom with a larger audience worthy of receiving it.
In Vedic Mathematics the numbers 1, 2 and 3 are numbers with positive energy. (Just like in Fibonacci Wave). The number 4 has a slight negative energy and is considered a universal correction; the number 5 is a positive energy; the number 6 is strong correction; the number 8 is a very positive energy and number 9 is a deep correction and it represents the end of the Vedic Wave Cycles.
Through complex calculations, I have been able to determine the specific energy of each company and to predict the energy of their stock. I have been able to determine the specific point of time when the Vedic Wave Cycles intertwines with the company to determine the trends of their value.
I have developed a simple formula based on a complex system that takes Vedic Mathematics and Astronomy of the universe into account and that will allow you to predict the energy of individual stocks and precious metals with greater accuracy than ever before.
A close observation in modern mathematics will show that there are only 9 numbers plus 0. All numbers above 9 and 0 are repetitions of these same numbers in different combinations. The number 11 is just the same as 2 and the number 12 is the same as 3. I also observed that 9 plus any number will give the same number back when reduced to the real number under 10. This is already established and observed in Modern day mathematics. What is interesting is the way it has been established in ancient Vedic Mathematics.
